Help
Answers to the most common questions. The app itself is in French only for now.
The machine does not move after a workout
Check these points, then pull the screen down to refresh:
- the workout shows up in the Health (or Fitness) app;
- it took place after the start date of your goal;
- Ruuun has access to workouts: Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Ruuun.
Which workouts count?
All those recorded in Apple Health with measured active energy: running, walking, hiking, cycling, swimming, strength training, and so on. A run or a walk without a measurement is estimated from its distance. Everyday steps outside a workout do not count.
How is what is left calculated?
The kilos you want to lose are converted into energy (1 kg of fat ≈ 7,700 kcal). Each workout takes off its active energy, and what is left is shown as kilometres of running at your most recent weight. Without a measurement, running is estimated at about 1 kcal per kg per km, walking at 0.5.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Any app that records workouts in Apple Health works. An Apple Watch adds measured energy, which is more faithful than the distance-based estimate.
Changing the goal or starting over
Tap the settings icon at the top right of the home screen. You can edit your weights and height there, or choose “Repartir de zéro à partir d’aujourd’hui” to count only future workouts.
Deleting my data
Everything is stored on your iPhone: deleting the app erases your profile. Your Apple Health data is not touched.
Does Ruuun replace medical advice?
No. The machine measures effort, not a guaranteed weight loss, and does not take food into account. Ask a health professional before starting a weight-loss plan.
